Recommendation: Recommendation: In the fix-it stories where Valjean saves Javert, it is very easy to see what Valjean has done for Javert. But in this one, you can see how Javert saves Valjean right back by not letting him martyr himself for Cosette’s supposed ‘happiness’. I just love how Javert thinks of and speaks to Marius, so spot on.

Summary: It starts with two men standing on the opposite sides of a door. For the second round of the Valvert Gift Exchange, where the prompt was that Valjean doesn't play dead after saving the topman of the Orion, is subsequently pardoned for his bravery, and when Javert stands outside his door in the Gorbeau Tenements, Valjean opens the door, having nothing to hide.

Recommendation: It’s funny seeing Javert trying to come to terms with a Valjean he cannot chase, at least not to arrest. ;) The interactions between Javert and Cosette are wonderful as they are both straight talkers.

Summary: Javert calls what he thinks is Valjean's bluff about needing three days to find the child Cosette and intercede for her. The Inspector comes along for the ride -- and gets much more than he bargained for, in the process.

Recommendation: t was just supposed to take three days, things go sideways in a hurry though. They banter with scripture, this tickles me so, and Cosette is the picture of adorableness without being cloying. I have to say I prefer this way, a whole heck of a lot less jumping off bridges certainly.
